ConvoWise Privacy Policy

The short version. ConvoWise has no accounts and does not ask who you are. The only information it handles is the answers you type during a practice interview. Those are sent to our server and on to OpenAI so the interviewer can reply and your feedback can be written. They are not saved to your device or to any account, and they are discarded when you leave the feedback screen.
What we handle
Your interview answers. When you type an answer and send it, the text of that answer, along with the earlier messages in that interview, is sent to our server. Our server forwards it to OpenAI, which generates the interviewer's next question and, at the end, your feedback.
That is the only content the app transmits.
What we do not collect
- No account, sign-in, name, email address, or phone number. The app never asks.
- No device identifier, advertising identifier, or user ID.
- No location data.
- No microphone, camera, photo, or contacts access. The app requests no device permissions at all.
- No analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind. We do not track you across apps or websites.
Who processes your answers
We use OpenAI to generate the interviewer's replies and your feedback. Your answers are sent to OpenAI's API for that purpose. OpenAI may retain API content for a limited period for abuse monitoring, as described in their policies, and does not use it to train their models by default. See OpenAI's privacy policy.
We do not share your answers with anyone else, and we do not sell them.
How long anything is kept
- On your device: an interview exists only while the app is open. There is no saved history, and leaving the feedback screen discards the session. Closing the app discards it.
- On our server: nothing is stored. Answers are held in memory only for as long as it takes to answer the request.
- Error logs: when a request fails, our server records the error type and status code. It does not record the content of your answers.
- Rate limiting: to stop one person overwhelming the service, our server briefly counts requests, which involves your network address for up to a minute. It is not stored beyond that and is not linked to your answers.
A note on what you type
Practice interviews invite personal answers. Please treat the app as you would a conversation with a stranger: share what you would be comfortable saying in a real interview, and avoid including information you would not want processed by a third party, such as identification numbers, financial details, or health information. You never need to give your real name to use the app.
Younger users
ConvoWise is intended for high school students preparing for college interviews, and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly handle information from children under 13. Because the app has no accounts, we hold no profile that could be identified or deleted. If you believe a child under 13 has used the app and you would like to raise a concern, contact us at the address below.
Security
All traffic between the app, our server, and OpenAI uses HTTPS. Our API credentials are held on the server and are never included in the app itself, so they cannot be extracted from your device.
Your choices
Because there is no account and nothing is stored, there is no profile to access, export, or delete. If you want an interview gone, leave the feedback screen or close the app and it is discarded. To stop all data transmission, stop using the interview feature or delete the app.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be reflected in the app's App Store listing as well.
